Summer camp has never been such a blast. Join Richie “Leroy” Wines on a journey filled with hilarity, inspiration, and spontaneous quests for fun. T Bar M Coach chronicles the true adventures of a college student working at a summer Christian sports camp. But beware, this isn’t another boring ol’ church camp, this is the amazing Christ Centered Adventure. From the wacky antics of Camp Director Johnny Polk, to the riotous pranking of “Skirtball Wars,” to the power of God changing lives, you’ll never look at camp the same again. Half the profits from the sale of this book go to the T Bar M scholarship fund.

Anyone who was fortunate enough be be a "Scurvy Beggar" (read the book and you'll understand!), anyone who has attendedthe T Bar M camp, or anyone who has an appreciation for a glimpse into Texas life (with an abundance of humor and personal fulfillment) will love this book. It offers a fairly quick reading experience, but the content will stick with you much longer. The author is an excellent storyteller with a narrative style that makes you feel like you are sitting in a rocking chair on a hot and dusty front porch, listening to stories while sipping a Dr Pepper.
The book is comprised of ten chapters, each with a story that paints a picture of a few incredibly meaningful and magical summers spent coaching kids at a summer camp. With elements of "Jackass" thrown in, that is (the camp director's first name of Johnny evokes images of Johnny Knoxville craziness). The antics that are described will at a minimum bring smiles to your face, and worst case you will find yourself laughing out loud. While I personally am not particularly religious, I appreciated gaining a better understanding of what T Bar M offered camp attendees and coaches, and found myself nodding my head in admiration of the spiritual path that the subjects in the book follow.
The final segment of the book includes an "omitted" chapter which does not offer any underlying lessons or meaning, but is the funniest section of the book. I hope the author does not let this piece vanish from a future edition of the book, because I cannot imagine anyone reading that and not getting some enjoyment out of it, and ... SPOILER ALERT ... it might teach some wacko kid in the future that driving a van across a muddy pond isn't the brightest of ideas.
